2018 BARS Roundtables: Save the date

Mark your calendars – we will be offering our Budgeting, Accounting, and Reporting System (BARS) Roundtables again this fall. The Roundtables are free, three-hour sessions that are open to all local governments.

This year, we will preview exciting new upcoming changes to the appearance and usability of the BARS Manual. Also on the agenda: upcoming Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) statements, discussions on accounting and reporting requirements for governments using generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and cash basis of accounting, an update on the Local Government Financial Reporting System (LGFRS) and Financial Intelligence Tool (FIT), and other helpful new resources. The Roundtables will also include an open discussion to give governments the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on any upcoming changes.

Audit liaisons received an email from our Office in September to register for a Roundtable. A detailed agenda will be sent to registrants before the event. The cities and dates for the Roundtables are listed below.
